Nestled in the heart of Central Asia lies a country waiting to be discovered – Kazakhstan. With its rich history, breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture, this hidden gem has been on the rise as a must-visit destination. And at the heart of this country lies its capital city, Astana. Formerly known as Akmola, Astana has transformed into a modern metropolis that boasts both traditional and modern elements. As a traveler from Europe, I was in awe of what this city had to offer. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and mesmerizing sights. The city is a perfect blend of old and new with its ancient mosques and futuristic skyscrapers. One of the must-see attractions is the Bayterek Tower, which offers stunning views of the city. The Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center is also a must-visit – a giant tent-like structure that houses shopping, dining and even a mini beach resort. But it’s not just the city’s architecture that captivated me, it’s also the people. The Kazakh culture is deeply rooted in traditions and hospitality. I was welcomed with open arms and got to experience their rich culture through their traditional food, music and dance. As I explored the city, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder and excitement. Astana truly is a hidden gem that should not be missed by any traveler.
