Nestled within the lush greenery of Puerto Rico, El Yunque National Forest is a true paradise for nature lovers. As a traveler from Europe, I was immediately drawn to this tropical oasis and its breathtaking landscapes.
El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest System, making it a unique and must-visit destination. With over 28,000 acres of land, this forest is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, including 240 different species of trees and over 85 species of birds. As I wandered through the forest, I couldn’t help but feel like I was in a scene from a fairytale.
One of the highlights of my visit to El Yunque National Forest was hiking to the top of El Yunque Peak, the highest point in the forest. The trail was challenging but the stunning views at the top were well worth the effort. I could see the entire forest, as well as the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
But the beauty of El Yunque National Forest isn’t just limited to its landscapes. The forest is also home to many natural pools and waterfalls, perfect for a refreshing swim on a hot day. I spent hours swimming in the cool waters and admiring the natural beauty that surrounded me.
For those looking for a unique and unforgettable experience, I highly recommend visiting El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico. It truly is a hidden gem in the Caribbean, waiting to be explored.
